Wolverhampton Wanderers are an English football club that represents the city of Wolverhampton in the West Midlands. They formed as St. Luke's Football Club in 1877, changing their name to Wolverhampton Wanderers two years later and becoming one of the founding members of the Football League.

Nicknamed "Wolves" or "The Wanderers", they play their home matches at Molineux Stadium, which has been their home since 1889. It was the first stadium ever built for use by a Football League club.

Wolverhampton Wanders play in the distinctive colours, black and gold, which originate from the motto of the city, 'Out of Darkness Cometh Light'. They share rivalries with a number of Midlands sides like Aston Villa FC, Birmingham City FC, Walsall FC and Staffordshire's Stoke City FC, but their main rivals are West Bromwich Albion FC, with whom they contest The Black Country derby.
